Las Vegas was awesome! We left Friday afternoon, and by the time we arrived...the night life was alive and kickin' in Vegas. The first views of the lights were spectacular, and I'm glad we arrived in the evening. We drove down the strip and saw the lights of all the big, huge hotels. We checked-in and just hung out in our room while we waited for our neighbors to arrive. We stayed at the Excalibur, and the kids thought it was super cool to stay in a castle. We were able to just walk around and take in some of the sites that night, however, the kids were a little surprised by some of the sites (I don't think I need to stay any more, do I?). Saturday morning we ate at a yummy buffet, and headed over to the Shark Reef at the Mandalay Bay Hotel. That was a lot of fun, and then we headed over to the MGM to see the lions. The kids thought that was amazing. We got something to eat and then we headed over to the Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus concert. I think that the concert was more than they had even imagined!! It was so cute to see the kids waving and going crazy when she came over to our side of the stage. There were fireworks, and streamers and flying confetti everywhere. It was really awesome!!!!....I had a blast as well, can you tell? After the concert we walked and walked and walked to find some good food, and we ended up right back where we started at the MGM. We had some yummy pizza, and then we made our way over to M&M world. It was really cool...I didn't know a place like that even existed. After that, we were all a little exhausted so we made the hike back to our room. What a blast! Sunday morning we woke up and headed home.
I think we'll definitely have to head back to Vegas sometime soon and check out all the sites we missed...we just didn't have enough time. The girls had a lot of fun having their little friend McCrae there with us, and Brian and I had lots of fun hanging out with Mike & Heidi as well.
Hope things are going well for all of you. Lots of love and best wishes - Brian, Kim & kids.

Just a Relaxing Thursday
Ella and I have just been relaxing today, and taking it easy. However, I have spent a good part of the morning on the computer, trying to make arrangements to stay in Las Vegas. Brian bought tickets for the girls to go and see Hannah Montana in concert. They are so excited....last night they wanted to leave right then and there. So, I passified their time by letting them make posters to hold at the concert. It was so cute....Tess tried to color her best for Hannah Montana. This is almost as big as Dineyland for them, and I think Zach is even excited...he wouldn't admit it if you ask him, but I think going to Vegas and seeing a concert seems pretty cool to him as well. Our neighbors are going along with us and taking their daughter McCrae, so you can only imagine the excitement level around here.
So, Brian is on his way home from Idaho as I type, and I always look forward to him coming home. The kids sure miss their daddy when he's not here (and I don't like to mention my serious separation anxiety...can we trace that back to our Immigration problems?....I would imagine so).
I think it would be a good idea for the kids to get things organized and ready tonight for our trip...I don't believe I'll have any problems getting them to cooperate. I will close for now...it's almost time to pick the kids up from school. I promise to have tons of pictures to follow the concert. Have a great afternoon.
Love from Kim & Ella

Christmas Vacation
Brian and I had such a nice Christmas vacation with the kids. It has been so nice to spend time together and have lots of family fun. The kids had such a blast sledding these last couple of weeks. They were braving the jumps and having a great time...NO FEAR!! (even Ella got in on the action)
The Sunday before Christmas (the 23rd), we got together with my parents and Michael and Bekah and their family. The kids had a lot of fun playing with their cousins, and the adults had plenty of food to snack on.
Christmas Eve, Brian and I finally decided to take the kids to Temple Square. That's been one of our traditions since we've moved here. We always look forward to seeing the beautiful lights and taking a horse-drawn carriage ride. This year it was blizzarding, and it was freezing!!...so, we had to see the lights from the car. After we got home, Zach, Lauren, and Tess were so anxious to keep track of Santa on the Norad website. They made sure that they went to bed way before Santa reached "our neck of the woods". They all had a huge slumber party in Lauren's room together, and they kept peaking out the window to see Santa's sleigh...it was so cute.
Christmas morning began early, about 6 AM, and the kids were pleasantly surprised by what Santa brought. They were playing all day long. Nannie & Papa came over later, and brought the gifts that Santa left at their place. Grandma and Grandpa sent money for the kids early, and the kids had a blast picking out their own toys!
We relaxed and spent a lot of down time between Christmas and New Year's Eve. For Lauren's birthday, she wanted to have 2 girlfriends from school over and she wanted to go and see "Enchanted". The kids loved the movie....even Zach seemed to tolerate it.
New Year's Eve we went to a neighborhood party and ate seafood. The kids played and had a rockin' good time. We came home around 9 PM and put Ella to bed, and then we counted down with Mom, Dad, Zach, Lauren & Tess. New Year's Day, Mom and Dad came over and Michael and Bekah brought the kids down. We had the traditional sauerkraut and pork. Sounds gross, but it's really YUMMY!
We hope that you've all had a great Christmas and wonderful start on the New Year.
Love to all,
Brian, Kim, Zach, Lauren, Tess & Ella
