Our Trip to the Zoo

We were invited to go to the Zoo on Wednesday, and everyone had a blast. Unfortunately, it was really cold when we got there. It did get sunny and warm up a bit just as we were getting ready to leave...go figure! The kids loved it, and they had so much fun being with all their friends. For me, the highlight was definitely seeing the giraffes!! I tried to get a photo of the baby giraffe's long tongue while he was eating, but my timing was off a little (the flash on the camera slowed things down a bit). A little later, while we were in looking at the gorillas, the kids witnessed a "gorilla family fued". The new baby gorilla was jumping around and playing with a stick, and she ended up hitting the daddy gorilla on the head. The daddy gorilla wasn't very happy about that, and he picked up the baby by the head, swung her around, and tossed her to the side. Well, the mommy gorilla came over and tried to grab the baby before the daddy tossed the poor thing, but she was a little delayed. She just went over, picked the baby up, took her to the corner and had a little time-out. There were 7 or 8 little girls (and Zach) who all saw the same thing...it was very exciting, and they were all cracking up....it was hilarious!

Yesterday, we took a trip up to Park City to shop the outlets. That was a lot of fun...a little chaotic at times, but still fun (who doesn't love to shop?)! I guess I'll go for now. Zach has a buddy coming over in about an hour and I still need to get showered and dressed. YIKES! Have a great day! Love, Kim

Spring Break

This week is "Spring Break" for the kids. I am getting a preview of what it will be like this summer with all 4 of the kids running around all day long...begging for their friends to come over and play...100's of kids (at least it seems that way) running in and out of my house from the front yard to the back yard....Griff barking non-stop at all the kids coming in and out....Ella following her big sisters around, and me trying to figure out who she's with and where they are....I LOVE SPRING BREAK. Actually, it's been really nice these last 2 days having the kids home and doing stuff with them. Yesterday it was un-seasonably warm, and they all got sunburns from being outside so long. Zach took a bike ride with his friend Zack. They made a wrong turn somewhere and ending up taking an hour long detour. Oh my! Thank goodness I gave Zach my cell phone and told him to call me when he got to the park...he ended up calling me and telling me that they had been lost, but they had figured out where they were and they knew how to get home "and by the way can we still go to the park and play". I couldn't believe they got lost. They both have been to this park before, but apparently it must seem different riding a bike compared to riding in a car. I bet they'll remember how to get their next time, huh? After Family Home Evening, we took a bike ride (poor Zach) down to the Gas Station to get treats, and then the girls came home to watch a movie. Zach's friend Zack came back over and a bunch of the neighborhood kids played a nighttime game of "Capture the Flag". The kids slept really good last night, even Ella stayed in her bed all night long!! I'll have to take some pictures of our activities, but until then....Have a good one!

Zach's Magical Pack Meeting

Tonight, Zach had a Cub Scout Pack Meeting. He received his Webelos Colors and 2 Awards....way to go buddy! Zach has great scout leaders and we are very appreciative to them for all their hard work. The theme tonight was "A Night of Magic"...all the scouts had to prepare and perform a magic trick. Zach prepared way in advance (yea, right) and performed the "linking and un-linking finger rings behind the head" trick...I'm sure you're all familiar with that one, right (for those of you from Ohio, think Bishop Morey's Magic Act). Anyhow, we all had fun, and it was a nice evening of recognition for the boys. Of course we took some pictures, like always...enjoy. I'll say goodnight for now, but I'll update again soon.

Love to all, Kim

April already?

It's so hard for me to believe that it's already April. It has been a busy last couple of weeks, and I'm sure you all can relate. A week ago this past Saturday, I was able to attend the General Young Women's Conference up at the Conference Center with all of our Young Women. It was so nice. I had a million things that needed done at home, and I even thought of bailing at the last minute. I am so glad I ended up going....President Eyring gave such a wonderful talk. After, we went with all the YW and their moms to get some dessert. I ended up trying this soup/salad/sandwich place instead of dessert, and it was YUMMY!

This past Saturday I went to see Frank Caliendo (he's a comedian for those of you who don't know), and he was hilarious. He was funny AND clean......maybe he kept it clean 'cause he was in UT. Regardless, it was nice that he was respectful. We all had tears streaming down our faces from laughing so hard.

Zach and Lauren have their last soccer game this Saturday (SIGH). Tess' season has just started pretty much, and we can't wait for the weather to warm up! We're all tired of sitting out in this freezing, windy weather (it sure does make me miss AZ). It's amazing to see how much Tess' team has improved. These little girls came back after Winter Break and it seems like things are finally clicking with them. Tess is great fun for us to watch....she sure is a little spitfire. Well, I feel like I better finish up before I start babbling.

I hope this finds you all happy and healthy! Love, Kim

These silly girls thought it would be fun to climb this tree during Tess' game...enjoy!
